A complete and exceedingly rare Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-Root Almanac (1920) presented with its matching glass medicine bottle, both preserved in remarkable harmony for over a century. The 1920 edition of Swamp-Root Almanac captures the visual splendor of the era’s lithographic design: the illustrated Native herbalist in crimson and blue shawl, the woodland teepee encampment, and the ornate zodiac border framing the eternal dialogue between health and nature.

Beside it, the original Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-Root bottle — with intact front label and signature of Dr. Kilmer — completes the historical narrative. The label identifies Swamp-Root as a “diuretic to the kidneys and mild laxative,” containing 10% alcohol by volume — a striking reflection of the period’s blend of botanical remedy and commercial medicine.
