Before interstates, before U.S. 1, before Florida became a destination—there was Old Dixie Highway.
Constructed in the early 1900s, the Dixie Highway once carried travelers, settlers, citrus, and ambition straight through Florida’s pine forests and coastal towns. Much of it has since been absorbed into modern roads or reclaimed by nature, but in quiet places, brick sections still remain, stretching beneath longleaf pines just as they did a century ago.
This framed art print is a modern visual interpretation of what Old Dixie Highway looks like today—a weathered brick road disappearing into the Florida landscape, worn by time, sun, and history. The distressed textures and muted tones reflect how the road survives now: fragmented, quiet, and almost forgotten.
Printed on high-quality paper, with a partly glossy, partly matte finish. This piece is both a tribute to Florida’s early infrastructure and a reminder that history still lives beneath our feet.
