A small punched hole at the upper-left corner of the cover, threaded with a short length of aged twine, tied loosely in a simple knot. The cord is slightly frayed at the ends and appears original or period-appropriate to the 1911 Swamp-Root Almanac.

Very small tear on cover - directly below the “I” in Binghamton.

This detail serves as a distinct physical identifier — evidence that the almanac was once hung for display or retail distribution, a common practice for apothecary and patent medicine almanacs of the early 20th century. Its survival with the original hanging string still intact is exceptionally rare, marking this copy as both authentic and historically complete.
